Plans of things to come...

Postby Pyro_64 on Tue Mar 09, 2010 12:41 am

Has anyone else taken some time out of fragging each other to look at the terrain around the main areas of play? Not only are they beautifully done, there's a lot of detail... I'm wondering if they plan on expanding in the future?? Or did the programmers just take some pride in their work??

Just wanted to share and hear your thoughts...

My understanding is BF3 will have jets. It will mirror BF2, supposedly. Naturally with the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which is currently being used in BFBC2. It is what it is right now. It ain't over yet.

No matter what they do, they can't do it without better PB support. There are so many problems with PB right now that many of the servers have turned PB off just so people can play. I little ironic, the security is so good it keeps a large number of folks from playing, legit or hacker. Brilliant!!!

They should make a version that "works" first. I'm seeing problems with corrupt textures, gray screen and crashes. I checked out some EA forums and I am not alone...

I wonder if the pressure from activision and MW2 got to the guys at EA a little and they pushed the dates for release up? I mean look at the beta test... I've never seen a beta start that close to a release date, there's no way the guys had time to process and evaluate the data captured from that... it doesn't excuse poor planning but it does make sense... it was pushed out when it was still in its infantile state and left to us to voice complaints back to EA so they could patch it... they've already patch the PS3 version once so far... no love in PC land yet... standing by for further EA... waiting on you!!

They should just save jets for BF3. Althought, I would really love one in BFBC2 because I seem to just die horribly. My last 2 games I had , 2 kills and 15 deaths in one, and 3 kills and 17 deaths in the next. I lose most gun fights

But anywho, it is a fun game with great graphics.

The Beta's main and really only purpose was to test the dedicated server files in a live environment. Something they could not do in the lab. There is no way a game developer can simulate 1000's of people playing over the internet with varying latencies on dedicated servers. Of course they welcomed game play comments but that was never the objective of the Beta.

Bad Company #1 did not have jets, there was never an intention to have jets in BC2. If you step back and evaluate the whole game, it really is meant to be a BF game that leans more toward the COD style game. This really is just a fancy COD game with vehicles, squads and classes that allow resupply and medics, this encourages the biggest thing that COD does not have....teamwork.

BF3 will have what you are looking for, expected about this time next year.

Now don't get me wrong, I love what this game has done to reinforce the small unit tactics and think that jets in the current maps would muddy the waters so to speak and crowd the battle space... guess the jet jockeys will have to wait for BF3...

i can't even fly the helicopter in this game. I take off and slam into the ground upside down within seconds! I can't even lift the dang UAV up. Is there a trick to it?

BF bad company 2 dosent have jets? does it have cobra chopper with TV missiles?

It looks more like call of duty 4 to me,sort of infantry only shooter.

When are they coming out for BF3 ? I ll save $$$ to buy a new computer for BF3 probably.

Is bad company 2 really laggy online?

Not sure what you're using. Mouse or JS? Anyhow, practice.

No, not with a good vid card, a decent CPU, and good connection

JS or Key board, I've noticed a huge change to the flight physics... it's almost like the developers talked to some helicopter pilots for input...

Give this a shot... as I'm sure you've noticed the sensativity is WAY up on the controls, dynamic roll over and pilot induced osolation seems to be in full effect, meaning if you give the aircraft too much forward stick and not let it react to your input, you over load the "stick" and the bird crashes. You want to put in +1 and take back -.5. What does that mean? If you want to start forward flight, give it some forward stick, but then immediately apply half of what you put in forward, into backwards on the stick... I probably just confused the hell out of any one reading this... :D

Or just do like NC said, pratice makes perfect...

I can kind of fly the UAV, but not very well. I prefer to put the vehicle scope on it and just use missiles at extremely long range.

I flew the helo once...made it halfway across the map with my mouse, then failed. Is there a way I can practice flying the helo offline?
