Guidelines

Below are simple guidelines to be used by Clan Members, if you have any doubt on how to proceed. If you are a player that has been kicked or banned, these guidelines are irrelevant to you.

Kick and Ban Guidelines

We use our admin privileges sparingly.

We don't want to drive our regular players away by being Kick and Ban happy (we have worked very hard to attract a regular crowd to our servers and don't want to undermine that effort).

There are a variety of options for taking care of players who are misbehaving. The first step is to give the player a warning. If a warning doesn’t solve the problem, just Kick the player from the server.

Always try to give them a chance to redeem themselves first. They may not be aware of our server rules, and a warning might be all that they need to understand and begin playing by our rules.

If the behavior continues after the player has been Kicked, consider placing a 30 minute Ban on them (longer if the offense is severe enough).

If they like playing on our server, they will attempt to come back and hopefully they will behave upon return. If you feel that the player is beyond redemption, then Ban them permanently; we don’t need players on our server that make everyone have a bad time.

Three Strike Policy

Clan members should always try to follow the three-strike policy:
    1. Strike One: give the player a warning
    2. Strike Two: kick the player
    3. Strike Three: ban the player

General guidelines for when you should kick and ban players:

  • Kick when: a player has engaged in purposeful team killing (after being warned at least once).
  • Kick when: a player has engaged in verbal abuse of another player (after being warned at least once).
  • Kick when: a player has engaged in disruptive behavior (after being warned at least once).
  • Kick when: a player has broken one of our server rules (after being warned at least once).
  • Kick players for high ping (above 150) if the server is generally lagging for everyone.
  • Kick players for being idle if the teams are lopsided or you need to make room for another player.
  • Kick players (without warning) for severe verbal abuse.
  • Ban (without warning) for racist comments.
  • Banwhen a player is beyond redemption. In other words, you are convinced that if the player ever returns, their behavior will be as bad or even worse.
  • Ban players only as your last resort and for the most severe violations of our server rules.

General guidelines for when you should NOT kick or ban players:

    • Never Kick clan members and preferred players for being idle unless the server needs the empty slots for additional players.
    • Never Kick and Never Ban a player because they are playing too well or because they stole your vehicle.
    • Never Kick and Never Ban a player because they don’t play well.
    • Never Ban a fellow clan member or preferred player. Any issues that require this action should be presented to the Board of Directors!

Making Room on the Server:

You may Kick other players to make room for yourself when the server is full, however you should follow these guidelines when deciding who to Kick

    • Do not Kick clan members or preferred players in order to make room for yourself (unless they have been idle for at least twenty minutes)
    • Try to avoid Kicking players who play regularly on the server.
    • Look for an idle player first.
    • If you can’t find an idle player to Kick, look for the player with the lowest score and highest ping (preferably one not in a squad).

Preferred Player Roster

Suspected Hackers

We understand that hackers can ruin the game for everyone. As a result, we should all be vigilant at prosecuting this crime. However, it can be difficult to determine or prove that a player is actually hacking.

If you find evidence of cheating or hacking, Ban the player and post the details on the forums. If you lack direct evidence, but you still believe the player is hacking, initiate a clan vote after you have set a temporary Ban and let the clan decide if we should keep the ban.

Any player that has already been placed on the Punkbuster Global Ban list should be immediately Banned on Site if found playing the same game on any of our servers.

Glitching:

You may Kick OR Banplayers for using a glitch.

A glitch is defined as:

Using faults in the game design to access area's that would make a person invincible yet able to fire and kill the enemy thereby inflating their normal score.

LaW Community Managers

LegionAtWar members are not selected at random, they are selected because we believe that they embody the special attributes that make our clan a cut above the rest. When a player puts on the LaWtags, they agree to represent our clan in the best possible light. Because people notice excellence and want to be part of it, the conduct of our members is our best recruiting tool.

LaW members embody the team spirit in everything they do. They share vehicles, are always in a squad, and always try to pickup their teammates whenever requested. They win rounds because the power of the team is greater than the sum of each individual’s contributions. They care more about their team winning than they do about their individual score or stats.

LaW members are fair. They use their admin privileges sparingly, kicking/banning players only when it becomes necessary. They always attempt to warn players before kicking/banning, giving everybody a chance to learn and follow our rules. They kick/ban for gross violations of our server rules, not because they stole our vehicle or because they are playing well.

LaW members are friendly and courteous. They show respect for each player, both teammates and enemies alike. They treat each player as they would like to be treated. Every player on our server is a potential new recruit and should be treated accordingly.

LaW members are fiercely competitive, but they know how to lose with honor. They strive to be the best possible player that they can be, always practicing and always improving their tactics and skills. They actively share new tricks with other clan members, helping the rest of the team to improve.
